भीष्म युद्ध में कंक के पत्तों से अनेक तीखे बाण चला रहे थे। एक ही सीधे पंख वाले बाण से वे लोहे के तीर वाले हाथी को भी छेद सकते थे। जैसे इंद्र अपने वज्र से विशाल पर्वत को छेद देते हैं।
