उस समय पाण्डवपुत्र युधिष्ठिर की सेना व्याकुल होकर, वेदनापूर्ण स्वर में विलाप करती हुई गौओं के झुंड के समान विचरण करती हुई दिखाई दी। बहुत से रथी भी व्याकुल होकर इधर-उधर भटक रहे थे। अपनी सेना को इस प्रकार व्याकुल देखकर यदुवंशी भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने अपना उत्तम रथ रोककर कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन से कहा -॥40-41 1/2॥
