महारथं भारत दुष्प्रकम्पं
शरौघिणं प्रतपन्तं नरेन्द्रान्।
भीष्मं न शेकु: प्रतिवीक्षितुं ते
शरार्चिषं सूर्यमिवातपन्तम्॥ ८४॥
अनुवाद
भारत! महारथी भीष्म स्थिर खड़े होकर बाणों की वर्षा करते हुए पाण्डव पक्ष के राजाओं को पीड़ा पहुँचा रहे थे। वे बाणों की किरणों से सुशोभित तथा सूर्य के समान प्रज्वलित भीष्म की ओर देख भी नहीं पा रहे थे।
Bharat! The great warrior Bhishma stood motionless and showered arrows and caused pain to the kings of the Pandava side. They could not even look at Bhishma who was adorned with the rays of the arrows and was blazing like the Sun. 84.
