तदनन्तर रथियों में श्रेष्ठ कृपाचार्य, दुर्योधन, अश्वत्थामा, शल्य, कम्बोजराज सुदक्षिण, अवन्ति के राजकुमार विन्द और अनुविन्द, तथा बाह्लीकदेश के सैनिकों सहित राजा बाह्लीक - इन सबने रथियों की विशाल सेना लेकर उस विशाल रथी सेना के द्वारा पार्थ की समस्त दिशाओं को, अर्थात् उनके समस्त मार्गों को अवरुद्ध कर दिया।
