ये ह्येव धीरा ह्रीमन्त आर्या: करुणवेदिन:॥ ५६॥
त एव युद्धे हन्यन्ते यवीयान् मुच्यते जन:।
हत्वाप्यनुशयो नित्यं परानपि जनार्दन॥ ५७॥
अनुवाद
जो वीर, शीलवान, कुलीन और दयालु होते हैं, वे प्रायः युद्ध में मारे जाते हैं और नीच लोग बच जाते हैं। हे जनार्दन! शत्रुओं को मारकर भी उनके लिए मन में सदैव पश्चाताप बना रहता है। 56-57।
Those who are brave, modest, noble and compassionate are usually killed in wars and the lowly people survive. O Janardan! Even after killing the enemies, there is always remorse in the mind for them. 56-57.
