अन्ततो दयितं घ्नन्ति केचिदप्यपरे जना:।
तस्याङ्ग बलहीनस्य पुत्रान् भ्रातॄनपश्यत:॥ ५५॥
निर्वेदो जीविते कृष्ण सर्वतश्चोपजायते। |

| युद्ध समाप्त होने तक, शत्रुओं के अनेक सैनिक विजयी योद्धा के अनेक प्रियजनों को मार डालते हैं। जो विजयी होता है, वह शक्ति (परिवार और धन-सम्बन्धी) से भी रहित हो जाता है और कृष्ण! जब वह युद्ध में अपने पुत्रों और भाइयों को मारा हुआ नहीं देखता, तो वह सब कुछ से विरक्त हो जाता है; यहाँ तक कि अपने जीवन से भी विरक्त हो जाता है। 55 1/2। |
