न तं विदुर्वेदविदो न वेदा:।
तथापि वेदेन विदन्ति वेदं
ये ब्राह्मणा वेदविदो भवन्ति॥ ५४॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | जो महापुरुष वेदों के रहस्यों को जानता है, वही जानने योग्य परमेश्वर को भी जानता है; परंतु उस (ज्ञाता) को न तो वेदों के वचनों को जानने वाला जानता है, न स्वयं वेद ही जानते हैं। तथापि जो ब्रह्मवेत्ता महापुरुष वेदों के रहस्यों को जानते हैं, वे वेद के द्वारा ही वेदों के रहस्यों को जानते हैं (अर्थात् वेदों का कथन इतना गोपनीय है कि उसका रहस्य और उसमें वर्णित ईश्वरीय तत्त्व केवल शब्दों के ज्ञान से नहीं समझा जा सकता। अंतःकरण शुद्ध होने पर साधक उसे सद्गुरु या प्रभु की कृपा से ही समझ पाता है)। | | | | The great man who knows the secrets of the Vedas, also knows the knowable God; But that (knower) is not known by the one who knows the words of the Vedas, nor by the Vedas themselves.
