वेदवेत्ता ब्राह्मण के उचित आचरण की प्रशंसा करते हैं, किन्तु जो बाह्यमुखी होकर धर्म का पालन करता है, उसे अधिक महत्व नहीं देना चाहिए । जो पुरुष (निःस्वार्थ भाव से) धर्म का पालन करते हुए अंतर्मुखी हो गया है, ऐसे पुरुष को श्रेष्ठ समझना चाहिए । जिस प्रकार वर्षा ऋतु में घास आदि की प्रचुरता होती है, उसी प्रकार जहाँ ब्राह्मण के योग्य अन्न-जल आदि प्रचुर मात्रा में हो, उसी देश में रहकर जीविका चलाए । भूख-प्यास से अपने को कष्ट न दे ॥29-30॥
The Veda scholars praise the proper conduct of a Brahmin, but one who is outward-looking in following the Dharma should not be given much importance. The man who has become introverted by (selflessly) following Dharma, such a man should be considered the best. Just as there is abundance of grass etc. in the rainy season, in the same way, where there is abundance of food and drink etc. suitable for a Brahmin, he should live in that country and earn his living. Don't let yourself suffer due to hunger and thirst. 29-30॥
