विदुर जी बोले- हे राजन! आपका कल्याण हो। अत्यधिक अभिमान, अत्यधिक वाचालता, त्याग का अभाव, क्रोध, जीविकोपार्जन की चिन्ता और मित्रों से विश्वासघात- ये छः तीक्ष्ण तलवारें मनुष्यों का जीवन छोटा कर देती हैं। ये ही मनुष्यों को मारती हैं, मृत्यु का कारण नहीं बनतीं॥10-11॥
Vidur ji said- O King! May you be blessed. Excessive pride, excessive talkativeness, lack of renunciation, anger, worry about earning one's own living and betrayal of friends-these six sharp swords cut short the life of mortals. These are the ones that kill humans, not cause death.॥ 10-11॥
