न चानुजानाति भृशं च तप्यते
शोचत्यन्त: स्थविरोऽजातशत्रो।
शृणोति हि ब्राह्मणानां समेत्य

| हे अजातशत्रु! राजा धृतराष्ट्र अपने पुत्रों को आपसे द्वेष करने की आज्ञा नहीं देते; अपितु उनके द्वारा आपके प्रति किए गए विश्वासघात को सुनकर वे अत्यन्त व्यथित और हृदय में शोकित होते हैं, क्योंकि जब वे अपने यहाँ आने वाले ब्राह्मणों से मिलते हैं, तो उनसे सदैव यही सुनते हैं कि मित्र के साथ विश्वासघात करना सब पापों में सबसे बड़ा पाप है॥4॥ |

King Dhritarashtra does not command his sons to hate you; rather, on hearing of their treachery against you, he becomes extremely distressed and grieves in his heart, because when he meets the Brahmins who visit him, he always hears from them that betraying a friend is the greatest of all sins.॥ 4॥ |
