शुक्लं प्रजानां विहितं विधात्रा।
ते चेद् दोषं न नियच्छन्ति मन्दा:

| ब्राह्मणों को दी गई जीविका रक्षा परलोक को प्रकाशित करने वाली उत्तम ज्योति है और इस चराचर जगत में उज्ज्वल यश फैलाने वाली है। स्वयं विधाता ने लोकहित के लिए यह विधान बनाया है। यदि मंदबुद्धि कौरव लोभवश ब्राह्मणों की जीविका का अपहरण करने की दुष्टता पर नियंत्रण नहीं रखेंगे, तो कौरव कुल का सर्वनाश हो जाएगा। 17॥ |

The Creator himself has created this rule for the benefit of the people. If the dull-witted Kauravas do not control the evil of hijacking the livelihood of Brahmins out of greed, then the Kaurava clan will be completely destroyed. 17॥ |
