कुबेर के निवास को सब ओर से सुशोभित, रत्नों, मणियों और सुवर्ण की मालाओं से युक्त, नाना प्रकार के पुष्पों की सुगन्ध से युक्त तथा झाड़ने-पोंछने से सुन्दर देखकर यक्षराज ने स्थूनाकर्ण के सेवकों से पूछा - 'हे महाबली यक्ष! स्थूनाकर्ण का यह घर सब प्रकार से सुसज्जित दिखाई देता है (इससे सिद्ध होता है कि वह घर पर ही है), फिर भी वह मूर्ख मेरे पास क्यों नहीं आता?
