यमदूतसमान् वेगे निपाते पावकोपमान्।
रामेणाजौ विषहितान् वज्रनिष्पेषदारुणान्॥ २६॥
पुरुषं तं न पश्यामि य: सहेत महाव्रतम्।
धृष्टद्युम्नमृते राजन्निति मे धीयते मति:॥ २७॥ |

| पितामह भीष्म के बाण अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी हैं और मृत्यु के दूतों के समान प्राणों का हरण करने वाले हैं। वज्र के समान गम्भीर शब्द करने वाले वे बाण युद्ध में सर्वप्रथम परशुरामजी ने ही सहे थे। हे राजन! मैं धृष्टद्युम्न के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य पुरुष को नहीं देखता जो महाभक्त भीष्म के वेग को सहन कर सके। ऐसा मेरा दृढ़ विश्वास है॥ 26-27॥ |

| The arrows of Grandfather Bhishma are as radiant as fire in striking and take away lives like messengers of death. Those arrows which make a deep sound like the thunder of thunderbolts were first borne by Parashurama in the war. O King! I do not see any man other than Dhrishtadyumna who can bear the speed of Bhishma, the great devotee. This is my firm belief.॥ 26-27॥ |
