ह्रीमान् बलान्वित: श्रीमान् सर्वशास्त्रविशारद:॥ १२॥
वेद चास्त्रं भरद्वाजाद् दुर्धर्ष: सत्यसङ्गर:।
यो नित्यं स्पर्धते द्रोणं भीष्मं चैव महाबलम्॥ १३॥
श्लाघ्य: पार्थिववंशस्य प्रमुखे वाहिनीपति:।
पुत्रपौत्रै: परिवृत: शतशाख इव द्रुम:॥ १४॥
यस्तताप तपो घोरं सदार: पृथिवीपति:।
रोषाद् द्रोणविनाशाय वीर: समितिशोभन:॥ १५॥
पितेवास्मान् समाधत्ते य: सदा पार्थिवर्षभ:।
श्वशुरो द्रुपदोऽस्माकं सेनाग्रं स प्रकर्षतु॥ १६॥
स द्रोणभीष्मावायातौ सहेदिति मतिर्मम।
स हि दिव्यास्त्रविद् राजा सखा चाङ्गिरसो नृप:॥ १७॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | जो आयु, शास्त्रज्ञान, धैर्य, कुल और बन्धु-बान्धवों आदि सब प्रकार से श्रेष्ठ हैं, जिनमें शील, बल और धन है, जो समस्त शास्त्रों के ज्ञान में निपुण हैं, जिन्होंने महर्षि भरद्वाज से शस्त्रविद्या प्राप्त की है, जो सत्यवादी और प्रचण्ड योद्धा हैं, जो पराक्रमी भीष्म और द्रोणाचार्य से सदैव मुकाबला करते रहते हैं, जो समस्त राजाओं की प्रशंसा के योग्य हैं और जो युद्ध के मुहाने पर खड़े होकर समस्त सेना की रक्षा करने में समर्थ हैं, जो अनेक पुत्रों और पौत्रों से घिरे होने के कारण सैकड़ों शाखाओं वाले वृक्ष के समान शोभायमान हैं, जिन्होंने द्रोणाचार्य का नाश करने के लिए क्रोधपूर्वक अपनी पत्नी के साथ घोर तपस्या की है, जो युद्धभूमि में शोभायमान होने वाले वीर योद्धा हैं और जो हमें सदैव पिता के समान प्रेम करते हैं, वे हमारे ससुर, राजाओं में श्रेष्ठ, राजाओं के राजा द्रुपद हमारी सेना के प्रमुख भाग का नेतृत्व करें। मेरी राय में, युद्ध के लिए आगे आए हुए द्रोणाचार्य और भीष्म पितामह का सामना केवल राजा द्रुपद ही कर सकते हैं; क्योंकि वह दिव्यास्त्रोंका विशेषज्ञ है और द्रोणाचार्यका मित्र है ॥12-17॥ | | | | Who is superior in all respects like age, knowledge of scriptures, patience, family and relatives, who has modesty, strength and wealth, who is proficient in the knowledge of all scriptures, who has received training in weapons from Maharishi Bharadwaj, who is a truthful and fierce warrior, who always competes with the mighty Bhishma and Dronacharya, who is worthy of praise from all the kings and who is capable of protecting the entire army while standing at the mouth of the battle, who looks beautiful like a tree with hundreds of branches due to being surrounded by many sons and grandsons, who has performed severe penance with his wife in anger to destroy Dronacharya, who is a brave warrior who looks beautiful in the battlefield and who always loves us like a father, may our father-in-law, the king of kings, Drupada, the most eminent among the kings, lead the major part of our army.
