मातोवाच
पुत्र नात्मावमन्तव्य: पूर्वाभिरसमृद्धिभि:।
अभूत्वा हि भवन्त्यर्था भूत्वा नश्यन्ति चापरे।
अमर्षेणैव चाप्यर्था नारब्धव्या: सुबालिशै:॥ २५॥
अनुवाद
माता ने कहा, "बेटा! तुम्हें यह सोचकर अपनी आज्ञा का उल्लंघन नहीं करना चाहिए कि तुम्हारा पूर्व धन नष्ट हो गया, क्योंकि धन और वैभव नष्ट हो जाते हैं, फिर प्राप्त हो जाते हैं और प्राप्त होने पर भी पुनः नष्ट हो जाते हैं; इसलिए मूर्ख पुरुषों को ईर्ष्या के कारण धन प्राप्ति के लिए कार्य आरम्भ नहीं करना चाहिए।
The mother said, "Son, you should not disobey yourself thinking that your previous wealth has been destroyed, because wealth and prosperity are lost and then regained, and even after being attained, they are lost again; therefore, foolish men should not start actions for acquiring wealth out of jealousy.
