पुत्र! जब तक श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुन कवच धारण करके युद्ध के लिए तैयार न हो जाएँ, जब तक गाण्डीव धनुष घर में रखा न जाए, जब तक धौम्य ऋषि शत्रु सेना के विनाश के लिए यज्ञ में आहुति न दे दें तथा जब तक विनयशील एवं महान धनुर्धर युधिष्ठिर तुम्हारी सेना पर क्रोध भरी दृष्टि न डालें, तब तक इस आसन्न नरसंहार को रोक देना चाहिए॥ 2-3॥
Son! Till the time Shri Krishna and Arjuna don their armour and prepare for the battle, till the Gandiva bow is kept at home, till the sage Dhoumya does not offer sacrifices in the sacrificial fire for the destruction of the enemy army and till the modest and great archer Yudhishthira does not cast his wrathful gaze upon your army, till then this impending massacre should be stopped.॥ 2-3॥
