युधिष्ठिर बोले— महाराज विराट! मैं वैयाघ्रपाद गोत्र में उत्पन्न ब्राह्मण हूँ। लोगों में मैं 'कंक' नाम से प्रसिद्ध हूँ। मैं पहले राजा युधिष्ठिर के यहाँ रहता था। वे मुझे अपना मित्र मानते थे। चौसर खेलने वालों के बीच मैं पासे फेंकने की कला में निपुण हूँ।॥12॥
Yudhishthira said— Maharaja Virat! I am a Brahmin born in the Vaiyaghrapada gotra. I am famous among people by the name 'Kanka'. I used to live with King Yudhishthira earlier. He considered me his friend. I am skilled in the art of throwing dice among the players of Chausar.॥ 12॥
