भरतश्रेष्ठ अर्जुन के बाण उसके कवच को भेदकर उसके शरीर में घुस गए। उनसे घायल होकर राजा शत्रुताप प्राण त्यागकर जैसे आँधी से उखड़कर वृक्ष पर्वत शिखर से गिर पड़ता है, उसी प्रकार वह युद्धभूमि में अपने रथ से गिर पड़ा॥13॥
The arrows of Arjuna, the best of the Bharatas, would pierce his armour and enter his body. Wounded by them, King Shatrutap lost his life and just like a tree uprooted by a storm falls from a mountain peak, in the same manner he fell from his chariot on the battlefield.॥13॥
