अहं दुरापो दुर्धर्षो दमन: पाकशासनि:।
तेन देवमनुष्येषु जिष्णुर्नामास्मि विश्रुत:॥ २१॥
कृष्ण इत्येव दशमं नाम चक्रे पिता मम।
कृष्णावदातस्य तत: प्रियत्वाद् बालकस्य वै॥ २२॥ |

| मुझे पकड़ना या अपमानित करना अत्यंत कठिन है। मैं इंद्र का पुत्र और शत्रुओं को परास्त करने वाला एक वीर योद्धा हूँ। इसलिए देवताओं और मनुष्यों में मैं 'जिष्णु' नाम से प्रसिद्ध हूँ। (कृष्ण शब्द का अर्थ है श्याम वर्ण और मन को मोह लेने वाला)। मेरा रंग श्याम वर्ण का है और बचपन में आकर्षक होने के कारण मैं अपने पिता को बहुत प्रिय था। इसलिए मेरे पिता ने मुझे दसवाँ नाम 'कृष्ण' दिया। |
