कर्ण की ओर देखकर उसने दुर्योधन से कहा - 'हे प्रभु! इससे पहले भी मत्स्य और शाल्व देश के सैनिकों ने हम पर अनेक बार आक्रमण करके हमें कष्ट पहुँचाया है। मत्स्यराज का सेनापति महारथी सूतपुत्र कीचक अपने भाइयों के साथ मुझ पर बार-बार आक्रमण करके मुझे बलपूर्वक कष्ट पहुँचा रहा है।॥ 2-3॥
