क्रियायामक्रियायां च प्रापणे पुण्यपापयो:॥
प्रजायां सृज्यमानायां पुरा ह्येतदुदाहृतम्।
एतद् वो मानुषा: सम्यक् कार्यं द्वन्द्वतया भुवि।
अस्मिन् सुनीते दुर्नीते लभते कर्मजं फलम्॥ |

| प्राचीन काल में सृष्टि रचना के समय भगवान ब्रह्मा ने किसी भी कर्म के करने और न करने की स्थिति में पुण्य और पाप की प्राप्ति के विषय में इस प्रकार कहा था- 'हे मनुष्यों! इस पृथ्वी पर द्वैत रूप में प्राप्त धर्म और अधर्म को अच्छी तरह समझकर ही तुम्हें कर्म करना चाहिए; क्योंकि अच्छे या बुरे भाव से किए गए कर्म के अनुसार ही कर्म का फल मिलता है। |
