वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं- जनमेजय! कीचक के ऐसा कहने पर सुदेष्णा दुःख से अत्यन्त व्याकुल हो गयी और मन ही मन कहने लगी- ‘हाय! यह तो बड़े दुःख, बड़े क्लेश और महान पाप की बात है।’ इस कृत्य के भावी परिणामों को देखकर वह अत्यन्त दुःखी हो गयी और रोने लगी तथा मन ही मन कहने लगी- ‘ऐसी बकवास बोलकर मेरा यह भाई स्वयं ही पाताल लोक या नरक की महान् अग्नि के मुख में गिर रहा है।’ (इसके बाद उसने कीचक से कहा-)
Vaishampayana says- Janamejaya! Sudeshna was very distressed with grief when Keechak said this and she started saying to herself- 'Oh! This is a matter of great sorrow, great trouble and great sin.' Looking at the future consequences of this act, she became very sad and started crying and said to herself- 'This brother of mine is himself falling into the mouth of the netherworld or the great fire of hell by speaking such nonsense'. (After that she told Keechak-)
