तब अगस्त्यजी ने लटके हुए पितरों से पूछा, "तुम सब यहाँ क्यों लटके हुए हैं, काँप रहे हो और नीचे की ओर मुँह किए हुए हो?" यह सुनकर वैदिक पितरों ने उत्तर दिया, "वंश के नाश की आशंका के कारण हम इस दयनीय स्थिति का सामना कर रहे हैं।"॥15॥
Then Agastya asked the hanging Pitris, “Why are you all hanging here, shaking and facing down?” On hearing this the Vedic Pitris replied, “We are facing this miserable situation because of the possibility of extinction of the lineage of progeny.”॥ 15॥
