| | | | श्लोक 3.85.105-111  | मनसा तानि गच्छेत सर्वतीर्थसमीक्षया।
एतानि वसुभि: साध्यैरादित्यैर्मरुदश्विभि:॥ १०५॥
ऋषिभिर्देवकल्पैश्च स्नातानि सुकृतैषिभि:।
एवं त्वमपि कौरव्य विधिनानेन सुव्रत॥ १०६॥
व्रज तीर्थानि नियत: पुण्यं पुण्येन वर्धयन्।
भावितै: करणै: पूर्वमास्तिक्याच्छ्रुतिदर्शनात्॥ १०७॥
प्राप्यन्ते तानि तीर्थानि सद्भि: शास्त्रानुदर्शिभि:।
नाव्रती नाकृतात्मा च नाशुचिर्न च तस्कर:॥ १०८॥
स्नाति तीर्थेषु कौरव्य न च वक्रमतिर्नर:।
त्वया तु सम्यग्वृत्तेन नित्यं धर्मार्थदर्शिना॥ १०९॥
पिता पितामहश्चैव सर्वे च प्रपितामहा:।
पितामहपुरोगाश्च देवा: सर्षिगणा नृप॥ ११०॥
तव धर्मेण धर्मज्ञ नित्यमेवाभितोषिता:।
अवाप्स्यसि त्वं लोकान् वै वसूनां वासवोपम।
कीर्तिं च महतीं भीष्म प्राप्स्यसे भुवि शाश्वतीम्॥ १११॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | सभी तीर्थों के दर्शन की इच्छा पूरी करने के लिए मनुष्य को उन दुर्गम तीर्थों की मानसिक यात्रा करनी चाहिए, जहाँ जाना संभव न हो, अर्थात मन से उन तीर्थों का चिन्तन करना चाहिए। वसुगण, साध्यगण, आदित्यगण, मरुद्गण, दोनों अश्विनीकुमार तथा देवोपम महर्षियों ने भी पुण्य लाभ की इच्छा से उन तीर्थों में स्नान किया है। उत्तम व्रतों का पालन करने वाले कुरुनन्दन! उसी प्रकार तुम भी शौच और संतोष आदि नियमों का पालन करते हुए तथा शुभ कर्मों से अपने पुण्यों की वृद्धि करते हुए उन तीर्थों में जाओ। विद्वान ऋषि-मुनि ही आस्तिकता से पूर्व अपनी इन्द्रियों को शुद्ध करके तथा वेदों का पालन करके उन तीर्थों को प्राप्त करते हैं। कुरुनन्दन! जो ब्रह्मचर्य आदि व्रतों का पालन नहीं करता, जिसने अपने मन को वश में नहीं किया है, जिसका आचरण और विचार अशुद्ध हैं, जो चोर है, जिसकी बुद्धि कुटिल है, ऐसा मनुष्य श्रद्धा के अभाव के कारण तीर्थों में स्नान नहीं करता। तुम धर्म और अर्थशास्त्र के ज्ञाता हो तथा सदैव उत्तम आचरण में लगे रहते हो। धार्मिक! तुमने सदैव अपने स्वधर्म का पालन करके अपने पिता, पितामह, पितामह, ब्रह्मा आदि देवताओं तथा महर्षियों को संतुष्ट किया है, अतः तुम इन्द्र के समान प्रतापी राजा हो! तुम वसुओं के लोक में जाओगे। भीष्म! इस पृथ्वी पर तुम्हें विशाल एवं अक्षय यश प्राप्त होगा। 105—111॥ | | | | To fulfill the desire of seeing all the pilgrimages, a person should mentally travel to those inaccessible pilgrimages where it is not possible to go, that is, he should think about those pilgrimages with his mind. Vasugan, Sadhyagan, Adityagan, Marudgan, both Ashwini-Kumars and Devopam Maharishis have also taken bath in those pilgrimage places with the desire of gaining virtuous benefits. Kurunandan, who observes good fasts! Similarly, you too should visit those places of pilgrimage, following the rules of toilet and satisfaction etc. and increasing your good deeds with good deeds. Only learned sages and sages attain those places of pilgrimage by purifying their senses before theism and following the Vedas. Kurunandan! One who does not follow the vows like celibacy, who has not controlled his mind, who has impure conduct and thoughts, who is a thief, whose intellect is crooked, such a person does not take bath in pilgrimages because of lack of faith. You are knowledgeable about religion and economics and are always engaged in good conduct. Religious! You have always satisfied your father, great-grandfather, great-grandfather, gods like Brahma and great sages by following your own religion, hence you are a king as glorious as Indra!
