चिह्नभूतो विभूत्यर्थमयं धात्रा विनिर्मित:।
प्रतिपत्कलुषस्येन्दोर्लेखा नातिविराजते॥ ७॥
न चास्या नश्यते रूपं वपुर्मलसमाचितम्।
असंस्कृतमभिव्यक्तं भाति काञ्चनसंनिभम्॥ ८॥
अनेन वपुषा बाला पिप्लुनानेन सूचिता।
लक्षितेयं मया देवी निभृतोऽग्निरिवोष्मणा॥ ९॥ |

| विधाता द्वारा बनाया गया यह चिह्न उसके भावी कल्याण का सूचक है। इस समय वह मास के प्रथम दिन के मलिन चन्द्रमा के समान सुन्दर नहीं है। उसका स्वर्ण के समान सुन्दर शरीर मलिन और कर्मकाण्डों से रहित (स्वच्छता आदि से रहित) होने पर भी स्पष्ट चमक रहा है। उसकी शोभा नष्ट नहीं हुई है। जिस प्रकार छिपी हुई अग्नि अपने ताप से पहचानी जाती है, उसी प्रकार देवी दमयन्ती का शरीर मलिन होने पर भी मैंने उसके मस्तक पर इस तिल के चिह्न से उसे पहचान लिया है। 7-9। |
