इत्युक्तास्ते ययुर्हृष्टा ब्राह्मणा: सर्वतो दिशम्॥ ५॥
पुरराष्ट्राणि चिन्वन्तो नैषधं सह भार्यया।
नैव क्वापि प्रपश्यन्ति नलं वा भीमपुत्रिकाम्॥ ६॥
ततश्चेदिपुरीं रम्यां सुदेवो नाम वै द्विज:।
विचिन्वानोऽथ वैदर्भीमपश्यद् राजवेश्मनि॥ ७॥ |

| राजा की यह बात सुनकर सभी ब्राह्मण अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और चारों ओर घूमकर निषधन के राजा नल और उनकी पत्नी को नगरों और देशों में ढूँढ़ने लगे; किन्तु नल या भीम की पुत्री दमयंती उन्हें कहीं दिखाई नहीं दिए। तत्पश्चात सुदेव नामक एक ब्राह्मण सुन्दर चेदि नगरी में गया और वहाँ के राजमहल में विदर्भ की पुत्री दमयंती को देखा। |

| On hearing the King say this, all the Brahmins became very happy and went in all directions and started looking for the King of Nishadhan Nala and his wife in the cities and countries; but they were not able to see Nala or Bhima's daughter Damayanti anywhere. Thereafter a Brahmin named Sudeva went to the beautiful Chedi city and saw Vidarbha's daughter Damayanti in the royal palace there. 5-7. |
