उसके अत्यन्त भयंकर वचन सुनकर दमयन्ती लज्जित और भयभीत हो गई। उसके पाप-प्रणय के फलित होने के भय से वह उस ओर भाग गई, जहाँ घना वन था। वहाँ जाकर वह अपनी स्थिति पर विचार करके विलाप करने लगी॥29-30॥
