वैशम्पायन जी बोले - हे राजन! पुरुषोत्तम पाण्डव लोग जंगली फल-मूल तथा खेती से उत्पन्न अन्न को पहले ब्राह्मणों को अर्पित करते थे, फिर स्वयं खाते थे। तथा सबकी रक्षा के लिए वे अपने बाणों से ही जंगली पशुओं का वध कर देते थे।
Vaishmpayana said - O King! The best of men, the Pandavas, used to first offer the wild fruits and roots and the food grains produced by farming to the Brahmins and then eat them themselves. And for the protection of everyone, they used to kill the wild animals only with their arrows.
