नूनं ते भ्रातर: सर्वे त्वत्कथाभि: प्रजागरे॥ २८॥
रंस्यन्ते वीर कर्माणि कथयन्त: पुन: पुन:।
नैव न: पार्थ भोगेषु न धने नोत जीविते॥ २९॥
तुष्टिर्बुद्धिर्भवित्री वा त्वयि दीर्घप्रवासिनि।
त्वयि न: पार्थ सर्वेषां सुखदु:खे समाहिते॥ ३०॥
जीवितं मरणं चैव राज्यमैश्वर्यमेव च।
आपृष्टो मेऽसि कौन्तेय स्वस्ति प्राप्नुहि भारत॥ ३१॥ |

| वीर! तुम्हारे चले जाने पर तुम्हारे सभी भाई अवश्य ही जागते हुए तुम्हारे पराक्रम की चर्चा करके अपना मनोरंजन करेंगे। पार्थ! तुम्हारे चले जाने पर दीर्घकाल तक हमारा मन न तो भोग-विलास में लगेगा और न ही धन में। इस जीवन में भी कोई रुचि नहीं रहेगी। तुम्हारे बिना हमें इन सब वस्तुओं में तृप्ति नहीं मिलेगी। पार्थ! हमारे सुख-दुःख, जीवन-मरण और राज्य की समृद्धि तुम पर ही निर्भर है। हे भरतपुत्र! हे कुन्तीपुत्र! मैं तुम्हें विदा करता हूँ; तुम्हारा कल्याण हो।॥28-31॥ |

| Braveheart! After you are gone, all your brothers will certainly entertain themselves by talking about your valour while awake. Partha! After you leave for a long time, our mind will neither be interested in pleasures nor in wealth. There will be no interest left in this life also. Without you, we will not be able to find satisfaction in these things. Partha! Our happiness and sorrows, life and death and the prosperity of the kingdom depend on you. Bharat's clan's son! Kunti's son! I bid you farewell; may you attain welfare.॥28-31॥ |
