वैशम्पायन उवाच
इत्युक्त्वा दु:खशोकार्त: शुचिर्धर्मसुतस्तदा।
सम्मूर्छितोऽभवद् राजा साश्रुकण्ठो युधिष्ठिर:॥ ९॥
अनुवाद
वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं, 'जनमेजय!' ऐसा कहकर धर्मपुत्र शुद्धहृदय राजा युधिष्ठिर शोक और शोक से व्याकुल होकर मूर्छित हो गए। उनके नेत्रों से आँसुओं की धारा बह रही थी और उनका कंठ रुँध गया था।
Vaishampayana says, 'Janamejaya! Having said this, the pure-hearted king Yudhishthira, the son of Dharma, was overwhelmed with grief and sorrow and fell unconscious. A stream of tears was flowing from his eyes and his throat was choked.
