पितरं स समुत्सृज्य पितामहमुपस्थित:।
तस्य कोपात् पिता राजन् ससर्जात्मानमात्मना॥ १३॥
स जज्ञे विश्रवा नाम तस्यात्मार्धेन वै द्विज:।
प्रतीकाराय सक्रोधस्ततो वैश्रवणस्य वै॥ १४॥
अनुवाद
राजन! वैश्रवण अपने पिता को छोड़कर अपने पितामह की सेवा में रहने लगा। इससे रुष्ट होकर पिता पुलस्त्य ने स्वयं ही दूसरा रूप धारण कर लिया। पुलस्त्य के आधे शरीर से जो दूसरा द्विज उत्पन्न हुआ, उसका नाम विश्रवा था। विश्रवा वैश्रवण से बदला लेने के लिए सदैव उस पर क्रोधित रहते थे। 13-14॥
Rajan! Vaishravana left his father and started living in the service of his grandfather. Angered by this, father Pulastya himself manifested himself in another form. The second Dwija who emerged from half of Pulastya's body was named Vishrava. Vishrava was always angry with Vaishravana to take revenge on him. 13-14॥
