गृह्णीत चापानि महाधनानि
शरांश्च शीघ्रं पदवीं चरध्वम्।
पुरा हि निर्भर्त्सनदण्डमोहिता
प्रमोहचित्ता वदनेन शुष्यता॥ १९॥
ददाति कस्मैचिदनर्हते तनुं
वराज्यपूर्णामिव भस्मनि स्रुचम्।
पुरा तुषाग्नाविव हूयते हवि:
पुरा श्मशाने स्रगिवापविद्धॺते॥ २०॥
पुरा च सोमोऽध्वरगोऽवलिह्यते
शुना यथा विप्रजने प्रमोहिते।
महत्यरण्ये मृगयां चरित्वा
पुरा शृगालो नलिनीं विगाहते॥ २१॥
अनुवाद
अपना बहुमूल्य धनुष-बाण लेकर शीघ्रता से शत्रु के मार्ग पर चलो। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि द्रौपदी, धिक्कार और दण्ड के भय से मोहित होकर, उदास मुख वाली किसी अयोग्य पुरुष के आगे समर्पण कर दे। ऐसी घटना घटने से पहले ही वहाँ पहुँच जाओ। यदि राजकुमारी कृष्णा किसी अजनबी के हाथ पड़ जाएँ, तो समझ लो कि उत्तम घी से भरे हुए स्रुवा को किसी ने राख में डाल दिया है, हविष्य की आहुति पुआल की अग्नि में डाल दी है, देवताओं की पूजा के लिए बनी सुन्दर माला श्मशान में डाल दी है, यज्ञवेदी में रखा हुआ पवित्र सोमरस वहाँ के ब्राह्मणों की असावधानी से कुत्ते ने चाट लिया है और विशाल वन में शिकार करके अपवित्र हुए सियार ने पवित्र सरोवर में गोता लगाकर उसे अपवित्र कर दिया है; अतः ऐसी अप्रिय घटना घटने से पहले ही तुम लोग वहाँ पहुँच जाओ।
