वैशम्पायन उवाच
श्रुत्वा तेषां तथा वृत्तिं नगरे वसतामिव।
दुर्योधनो महाराज तेषु पापमरोचयत्॥ ५॥
अनुवाद
वैशम्पायन बोले: महाराज! जब दुर्योधन ने सुना कि पाण्डव वन में नगरवासियों की भाँति दान और पुण्य करते हुए सुखपूर्वक रह रहे हैं, तब उसने उन्हें हानि पहुँचाने का विचार किया॥5॥
Vaishmpayana said: Maharaj! When Duryodhan heard that the Pandavas were living happily in the forest, performing charity and pious deeds, just as the residents of cities do, then he thought of harming them. ॥ 5॥
