वैशम्पायन कहते हैं: हे राजन! शकुनीक के ये वचन सुनकर दुर्योधन ने दुःखी मुख से अपने चरणों में लेटे हुए भाईभक्त और शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले वीर दु:शासन को देखा और अपनी सुन्दर भुजाओं से उसे उठाकर प्रेमपूर्वक हृदय से लगा लिया और उसका मस्तक सूंघने लगा।
Vaishmpayana says: O King! On hearing these words of Shakunika, Duryodhan looked at the brave Dushasan, the devotee of brother and destroyer of enemies, lying at his feet with a sad face and raised him with his beautiful arms and lovingly embraced him and smelt his head.
