तेऽब्रुवन्नास्ति ते वीर्यं यत एवं प्रभाषसे।
सर्वास्त्वद्याभिगच्छन्तु स्कन्दं लोकस्य मातर:॥ २१॥
कामवीर्या घ्नन्तु चैनं तथेत्युक्त्वा च ता ययु:।
अनुवाद
यह सुनकर देवताओं ने कहा, 'तुम्हारे पास अब वह बल और पराक्रम नहीं रहा, इसीलिए तुम ऐसी बातें कह रहे हो। हमारी राय है कि संसार की सभी मातृकाएँ स्कंद के पास जाएँ। वे अपनी इच्छानुसार पराक्रम दिखा सकें, इसलिए उन्हें स्कंद का वध कर देना चाहिए।' तब 'बहुत अच्छा' कहकर वे मातृकाएँ वहाँ से चली गईं।
Hearing this, the gods said, 'You no longer have the strength and valour, that is why you are saying such things. It is our opinion that all the Matrikas of the world should go to Skanda. They can display valour as per their wish; hence they should kill Skanda.' Then saying 'very good' those Matrikas left from there. 21 1/2.
