स तानुवाच व्यथितो बालोऽयं सुमहाबल:॥ १९॥
स्रष्टारमपि लोकानां युधि विक्रम्य नाशयेत्।
न बालमुत्सहे हन्तुमिति शक्र: प्रभाषते॥ २०॥
अनुवाद
तब इन्द्र ने व्यथित होकर उन देवताओं से कहा- 'देवताओं! यह बालक अत्यन्त बलवान है। यह युद्ध में अपने पराक्रम से जगत के रचयिता ब्रह्मा को भी मार सकता है। अतः मुझमें इस बालक को मारने का साहस नहीं है।' इन्द्र बार-बार यही बात दोहराने लगे।
Then Indra became distressed and said to those gods- 'Gods! This child is very strong. He can kill even Brahma, the creator of the world, by his prowess in battle. Therefore, I do not have the courage to kill this child.' Indra started repeating this again and again. 19-20.
