कुरुश्रेष्ठ! उस देवी ने सात महात्मा सप्तर्षियों की पत्नियों का रूप धारण करके अग्निदेव के साथ मिलन की इच्छा की थी; किन्तु अरुन्धती की तपस्या तथा उसके पति और ननद के प्रभाव के कारण वह उनका दिव्य रूप धारण न कर सकी, अतः वह अग्नि के वीर्य को वहाँ केवल छः बार ही डालने में सफल हुई ॥13-15॥
Kurushrestha! That goddess had desired to unite with Agnidev by taking the form of the wives of the seven Mahatma Saptarishis; But due to the penance of Arundhati and the influence of her husband and sister-in-law, she could not assume his divine form, hence she succeeded in pouring Agni's semen there only six times. 13-15॥
