मार्कण्डेय उवाच
इत्युक्त: स प्रविश्याथ ददर्श परमार्चितम्।
सौधं हृद्यं चतु:शालमतीव च मनोरमम्॥ ५॥
देवतागृहसंकाशं दैवतैश्च सुपूजितम्।
शयनासनसम्बाधं गन्धैश्च परमैर्युतम्॥ ६॥
अनुवाद
मार्कण्डेयजी कहते हैं- धर्मव्याध के ऐसा कहने पर कौशिक ब्राह्मण ने भीतर प्रवेश करके देखा- वहाँ एक अत्यंत सुंदर और स्वच्छ घर था, उसकी दीवारें चूने से पुती हुई थीं। उसमें चार कमरे थे, वह भवन अत्यंत मनोहर और आकर्षक था, ऐसा प्रतीत होता था मानो वह देवताओं का निवास हो। देवता भी उसका आदर करते थे। एक ओर सोने के लिए पलंग और दूसरी ओर बैठने के लिए चटाई बिछी थी। वहाँ धूप और चंदन, केसर आदि की अद्भुत सुगंध फैल रही थी।
Markandeyji says- After Dharmavyadh said this, Kaushik Brahmin entered inside and saw- there was a very beautiful and clean house, its walls were whitewashed with lime. There were four rooms in it, that building was very lovely and attractive, it seemed as if it was the abode of the gods. Even the gods respected it. On one side there was a bed for sleeping and on the other side there were mats for sitting. There was a wonderful smell of incense and sandalwood, saffron etc. spreading there. 5-6.
