स जन्तु: सर्वभूतात्मा पुरुष: स सनातन:।
महान् बुद्धिरहङ्कारो भूतानां विषयश्च स:॥ ५॥
अनुवाद
वह प्राण (जीवन) ही जीव है, वह समस्त प्राणियों का आत्मा है, वह सनातन सत्ता है, वह महातत्त्व है, बुद्धि, अहंकार, इन्द्रियाँ जो पाँचों महाभूतों के कार्य हैं और उनसे संबंधित सब कुछ है (क्योंकि इस शरीर में सबका अस्तित्व इसी पर निर्भर है, तथा भविष्य में मिलने वाले शरीर में आना-जाना भी इसी पर निर्भर है। इसीलिए इस प्राण की प्रशंसा की गई है)*॥5॥
That Prana (life) is the living being, it is the Soul of all beings, it is the Eternal Being, it is the Mahatattva, the intellect, the ego, the senses which are the functions of the five elements and everything related to them (because the existence of everything in this body is dependent on it, and going and coming in the body that we will get in the future also depends on it. That is why this Prana has been praised)*॥ 5॥
