पापात्मा भवति ह्येवं धर्मलाभं तु मे शृणु।
यस्त्वेतान् प्रज्ञया दोषान् पूर्वमेवानुपश्यति॥ ११॥
कुशल: सुखदु:खेषु साधूंश्चाप्युपसेवते।
तस्य साधुसमारम्भाद् बुद्धिर्धर्मेषु राजते॥ १२॥ |

| इस प्रकार मनुष्य पापी हो जाता है। अब मुझसे सुनो कि धर्म की प्राप्ति कैसे होती है। जो मनुष्य दुःख और सुख के विवेक में कुशल है, वह इन विषयों से संबंधित दोषों को पहले ही अपने मन में समझ लेता है। अतः वह उनसे दूर होकर सज्जनों की संगति करता है और उस सज्जन संगति से उसका मन धर्म में लग जाता है। ॥11-12॥ |

| In this way a man becomes a sinner. Now listen to me how one attains Dharma. One who is skilled in the discrimination between sorrow and happiness, understands the defects related to these subjects in his mind beforehand. Hence, he moves away from them and keeps company with noble men and through that noble company his mind gets focused on Dharma. ॥11-12॥ |
