बहुत से दरिद्र मनुष्य पुत्र प्राप्ति की इच्छा से देवताओं की पूजा और कठोर तप करते हैं, परन्तु फिर भी उनके जो पुत्र उत्पन्न होते हैं, वे माता के गर्भ में दस महीने तक गर्भ धारण करके पालने के बाद निकृष्ट कुल के निकलते हैं।*॥12 1/2॥
Many poor people worship the gods and perform severe austerities with the desire of having a son, but even then the sons born to them, after being conceived and nurtured in the mother's womb for ten months, turn out to be of a bad family*॥ 12 1/2॥
