तत्पश्चात् जब वे आगे बढ़े, तो एक और ब्राह्मण घोड़ा चाहने वाला आया। उसके माँगने पर राजा ने कहा, "मैं अपने गंतव्य पर पहुँचते ही तुम्हें घोड़ा दे दूँगा।" ब्राह्मण ने कहा, "तुरंत मुझे दे दो।" तब उन्होंने घोड़ा ब्राह्मण को दे दिया और स्वयं रथ का धुरा पकड़कर कहा, "ब्राह्मणों का ऐसा करना उचित नहीं है।"॥9॥
‘After that when they proceeded further, another Brahmin desiring a horse arrived. On his asking for it the king said, “I will give you the horse as soon as I reach my destination.” The Brahmin said, “Give it to me immediately.” Then he gave the horse to the Brahmin and himself took hold of the axle of the chariot and said, “It is not proper for Brahmins to do so.”॥9॥
