"अतः आप दोनों ही उदार हैं। इस समय आपमें से जो अधिक उदार हो, उसे मार्ग छोड़ देना चाहिए; यही उदारता का आदर्श है।" यह कहकर नारदजी चुप हो गए। यह सुनकर कुरुवंशी राजा सुहोत्र ने शिबि को अपने दाहिनी ओर खड़ा करके उसे मार्ग दिया और उसके अनेक पुण्यों का वर्णन तथा उसकी भूरि-भूरि प्रशंसा करके वे अपनी राजधानी को चले गए।
"So both of you are generous. At this time the one who is more generous among you should leave the path; this is the ideal of generosity." Saying this Naradji became quiet. On hearing this the Kuru dynasty king Suhotr made Shibi stand on his right and gave him way and after mentioning his many good deeds and praising him profusely he went to his capital.
