यो दत्त्वातिथिभूतेभ्य: पितृभ्यश्च द्विजोत्तम:॥ ३२॥
शिष्टान्यन्नानि यो भुङ्क्ते किं वै सुखतरं तत:।
अतो मृष्टतरं नान्यत् पूतं किञ्चिच्छतक्रतो॥ ३३॥
अनुवाद
जो श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण सदैव अतिथियों, प्राणियों और पितरों को भोजन कराता है, अर्थात् भगवान को अर्पण करता है और फिर बचे हुए भोजन को स्वयं खाता है, उससे बढ़कर और क्या सुख हो सकता है? देवेन्द्र! इस बचे हुए भोजन से बढ़कर मधुर और पवित्र कोई दूसरा भोजन नहीं है।
What greater happiness can there be than the great Brahmin who always offers food to guests, living beings and forefathers, i.e., sacrifices it to God and then eats the remaining food himself? Devendra! There is no other food more sweet and sacred than this leftover food.
