उस परब्रह्म में ब्रह्माण्डरूपी एक विशाल ईख का वृक्ष है, जिसकी भोग-स्थानरूपी अनंत शाखाएँ हैं और जो शब्द आदि पवित्र सुगन्धि से परिपूर्ण है। (उस ब्रह्माण्डरूपी वृक्ष की जड़ अज्ञान है।) उस अज्ञानरूपी जड़ से विषय-भोगों की सनातन बहने वाली नदियाँ निकलती हैं। वे नदियाँ ऊपर से सुखद और पवित्र सुगन्धि से परिपूर्ण प्रतीत होती हैं और मधु के समान मधुर तथा जल के समान तृप्तिदायक पदार्थ प्रवाहित करती हैं। 28॥
In that Supreme Brahma there is a huge cane tree in the form of the universe, which has infinite branches in the form of places of enjoyment and is full of sacred fragrance in the form of words etc. (The root of that tree in the form of the universe is ignorance.) From that root in the form of ignorance, eternal flowing rivers of sensual pleasures arise. Those rivers appear superficially to be full of pleasant and sacred fragrance and flow substances as sweet as honey and as satisfying as water. 28॥
