(नमस्कृत्य त्रिनेत्राय वासवाय च पाण्डव:।)
गिरिकूबरपादाक्षं शुभवेणु त्रिवेणुमत्॥ ४॥
पार्थिवं रथमास्थाय शोभमानो धनंजय:।
दिव्येन संवृतस्तेन कवचेन सुवर्चसा॥ ५॥
धनुरादाय गाण्डीवं देवदत्तं स वारिजम्।
शोशुभ्यमान: कौन्तेय आनुपूर्व्यान्महाभुज:॥ ६॥
अस्त्राणि तानि दिव्यानि दर्शनायोपचक्रमे।
अथ प्रयोक्ष्यमाणेषु दिव्येष्वस्त्रेषु तेषु वै॥ ७॥
समाक्रान्ता मही पद्भॺां समकम्पत सद्रुमा।
क्षुभिता: सरितश्चैव तथैव च महोदधि:॥ ८॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | महाबली अर्जुन ने पहले विधिपूर्वक स्नान करके अपने को शुद्ध किया। तत्पश्चात् त्रिनेत्रधारी भगवान शिव और इन्द्र को नमस्कार करके उन्होंने वह अत्यन्त तेजस्वी दिव्य कवच धारण किया। तत्पश्चात् वे पृथ्वीरूपी रथ पर आरूढ़ हुए और अत्यन्त शोभायमान हो रहे थे। पर्वत ही उस रथ का कूबड़ था, दोनों पैर पहिए थे और सुन्दर बाँसों का वन त्रिवेणु (रथ का विशेष अंग) था। तत्पश्चात् महाबाहु कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन ने एक हाथ में गाण्डीव धनुष और दूसरे हाथ में देवदत्त शंख धारण किया। इस प्रकार वीर वेश धारण करके वे धीरे-धीरे उन दिव्यास्त्रों का प्रदर्शन करने लगे। जिस समय उन दिव्यास्त्रों का प्रयोग प्रारम्भ होने वाला था, उस समय अर्जुन के पैरों से दबी हुई पृथ्वी वृक्षों सहित काँपने लगी। नदियाँ और समुद्र उमड़ने लगे। | | | | The mighty Arjuna first purified himself by bathing as prescribed by the law.
