च्यवन और शुकन्या को देवताओं के पुत्रों के समान प्रसन्न देखकर शर्याति और उनकी पत्नी अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुए, मानो उन्हें सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी का राज्य प्राप्त हो गया हो। च्यवन ऋषि ने राजा और उनकी रानियों का बड़े आदरपूर्वक स्वागत किया और उनके पास बैठकर उन्हें मन को प्रसन्न करने वाली मंगलमयी कथाएँ सुनाईं॥2-3॥
Seeing Chyavana and Sukanaya happy like the sons of the celestial demigods, Sharyati and his wife were overjoyed, as if they had been given the kingdom of the whole earth. Sage Chyavana welcomed the king and his queens with great respect and sat beside them and narrated to them auspicious stories that were pleasing to the heart.॥2-3॥
