बलदेव उवाच
न कृष्ण धर्मश्चरितो भवाय
जन्तोरधर्मश्च पराभवाय।
युधिष्ठिरो यत्र जटी महात्मा
वनाश्रय: क्लिश्यति चीरवासा:॥ ५॥
अनुवाद
बलदेव जी बोले - श्री कृष्ण! ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि आचरण में किया हुआ धर्म भी प्राणियों की उन्नति का कारण नहीं है और उनके द्वारा किया हुआ अधर्म भी उनकी पराजय का कारण नहीं है, क्योंकि (सदैव धर्म का पालन करने वाले) महाबली युधिष्ठिर को जटाधारी और छाल वस्त्रधारी वन में रहते हुए महान दुःख भोगना पड़ता है॥5॥
Baldev Ji said - Shri Krishna! It seems that even the Dharma (righteousness) followed in practice is not the cause of the prosperity of the beings and even the Adharma (misdeeds) committed by them is not the cause of their defeat, because the great Yudhishthira (who always follows Dharma) has to suffer great pain while living in the forest with matted hair and bark clothes. ॥ 5॥
