'राक्षस ही ऐसी चीजें लाते हैं।' ऐसा कहकर ऋषि विभाण्डक ने अपने पुत्र को उस वेश्या से मिलने से मना कर दिया और स्वयं उस वेश्या की खोज में निकल पड़े। तीन दिन तक खोजने पर भी जब वह उन्हें नहीं मिली, तो वे आश्रम लौट आए।
