पुत्रार्थमयजद् राजा वधाय मम भारत॥ ४२॥
अनुवाद
हे राजन! मित्रता के कारण हुए झगड़े में मैंने राजा द्रुपद को राज्य से हटा दिया था; हे भरत! इससे दुःखी होकर उन्होंने मुझे मारकर पुत्र प्राप्ति की इच्छा से यज्ञ का आयोजन किया।
'O King! I had dethroned King Drupada from his kingdom when a quarrel broke out over friendship; O Bhaarat! Being saddened by this, he organised a Yajna with the desire to obtain a son by killing me.
